We all have gifts to give the world, and the trick is to reach inside and find our potential in a supportive space. None of us are perfect, but it is our imperfection and our life experience, complete with all the bumps and bruises and triumphs and victories that make us a piece of the quilt of humanity. Pilates is both a system of exercises that can change your life and it is also the place where you can develop and be who you are.
How I got here...
I discovered Pilates as a result of a dance-related injury in 1995. At that time, I was told that I needed back surgery if I was ever going to dance again. I had ruptured disks, pinched nerves, the works. My dance teacher at that time suggested I try Pilates. I was able to heal without surgery, and I’ve stayed very healthy, fit, and injury-free as a result of my Pilates practice.
As a result, I love helping people in special situations to regain mobility and improve their quality of life. If you are a senior citizen wondering about beginning exercise, Pilates is a safe and easily adaptable way to help stay flexible and address concerns such as osteoporosis. Are you a skier or boarder?
